Chengdu has a humid climate, less sunshine, and cloudy fog all year round. The annual average temperature is 16°C/60.8°F. The temperature in the spring and autumn is moderate, the climate is good, suitable for play, especially in March-June and September-November is the best time to travel.
Spring

Spring is from March to May. Although it may be very cold in winter, it may become stuffy in summer, however the spring atmosphere in Chengdu is mild, with an average temperature between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare shirts for the weather, thin sweaters and jackets may also help.

Summer

Despite summer time from June to August is the peak season which get crowd people to visit, it is not recommended for you to be there. The air is wet with high temperature. Be prepare to book hotels and flights at least two months earlier to get a lower price.

Autumn

Autumn is the best time of the year for travelers. The weather and streetview are lovely and outstanding. Every corner of this ancient city can be shot into movies.

Winter

Winter is from December to February. Chengdu is at its quietest during these cold winter months when it is usually cold, damp and grey, with little rainfall. The average low and high temperatures are around 2–10°C (36–49°F). It is good to enjoy hot pot in cold days. Prepare sweater and down jacket for winter.
The drop in temperature means a drop in both airfare and hotel rates, which makes this a great time to visit the city if you’re looking for a bargain and are not bothered by a little cold.
